VfL Wolfsburg coach Dieter Hecking is furious after a reporter's question about Dzenan Pejcinovic's future following the game against Gladbach. Hecking criticized the question as inappropriate and demanded consideration for his players. The Lower Saxons are currently fighting against relegation and have only a one-point lead over FC St. Pauli.
The question about Pejcinovic's future is sensitive, as the player has a contract until summer 2029. Hecking emphasized that his players are giving everything to achieve relegation.
VfL Wolfsburg must focus on the next games to avoid relegation. The current statistics are:
| Category | Value |
|---|---|
| League position | 16th place |
| Points | 29 |
| Wins | 7 |
| Draws | 8 |
| Losses | 19 |
| Goals | 45:69 (-24) |
Hecking himself has a contract that is only valid for this season.
Current situation
VfL Wolfsburg has recently played five games and won only one. The last two games were lost. The last win dates back to May 25, 2026, against SC Paderborn 07.
