VfL Wolfsburg defender Kilian Fischer has completed his bachelor's degree in economics. The 26-year-old right-back passed his examination at the Fern-Universität Hagen on 2 August, just before the start of the 2. Bundesliga season.

Head coach Tobias Strobl publicly congratulated the player. He said the team had congratulated him for doing that. It also speaks for the footballers who do this on the side and then also complete it successfully. Fischer, a former German U21 international with Bundesliga experience, shared a photo of his graduation certificate on Instagram.

The degree highlights Fischer's preparation for life after his playing career. Currently, he is focused with the team on sporting matters. VfL Wolfsburg sit fifth in the 2. Bundesliga table with 12 points from seven matches. Their recent form shows two wins, two draws, and one defeat from the last five games.

On Saturday, 17 October, an important home fixture against third-placed 1. FC Heidenheim awaits. This season's squad list and further details are also available on our squad page.
