FC Schalke 04 is facing its sixth transfer after promotion and Jesper Lindström is preparing to return to the Bundesliga. Consistent reports indicate that the Kings Blues are considering a loan deal with Napoli for the Danish forward, who was previously at VfL Wolfsburg in his last season where he lost nearly half of his market value.
In the previous season, Lindström had been loaned out by Frankfurt to VfL Wolfsburg and had already lost substantial portions of his market value. The gap between leaving Frankfurt and joining Wolfsburg was 10 million euros at that time. By last summer, Lindström's market value stood at 18 million euros instead of the initial 28 million euros. Now, after the relegation season with VfL, he is valued only at 4 million euros – a decline of more than 77% within one season.
If Lindström joins this list, it would be Schalke's fifth club since 2023. He has good memories in Gelsenkirchen, having scored his last goal against the S04 back in 1,284 days ago – when he was valued at 28 million euros. Today, only 14% of that value remains, as Lindström could not play for Wolfsburg due to an injury. He started four times and was substituted eleven times, including both relegation matches against Paderborn, which sealed the Wölfe's first Bundesliga relegation.
