Bundesliga relegation VfL Wolfsburg reacted to the repeated collapse of their most well-known player Christian Eriksen in the social networks. "We think of you, Christian", wrote the "Wolves" on their X account. "We are in close contact with the Danish Football Association and are following the further development. All the best and a speedy recovery, Christian." The 34-year-old Eriksen had previously collapsed in the 65th minute of the international match between Denmark and Ukraine on the pitch. The incident reminded of the cardiac arrest and resuscitation of the Danish record national player at the EM game 2021 against Finland in Copenhagen. This time, however, the Danish Association DBU issued a first warning shortly after. ## Pacemaker functioned "Christian is fine. He left the pitch on his own power. As far as I can assess, the pacemaker is functioning perfectly", is quoted by the Danish team doctor Morten Boesen in the first statement. The Wolfsburgers had signed the former player of Manchester United and Inter Milan at the beginning of the previous season. Despite this prominent reinforcement, the VfL relegated to the second league for the first time in its history. Eriksen had actually wanted to decide in the coming days whether he also wanted to play for the Volkswagen club in the second league or leave the club after relegation.
